A TIME OF TRANSITION

From the Board
Clark County Food Bank is recognizing Alan Hamilton as he prepares to step down from his role as President at the end of September. “Alan’s leadership of Clark County Food Bank over the years has made a tremendous impact to our community. His vision, compassion, work ethic and integrity are deeply appreciated. I have enjoyed working with him over the past 12 years and wish him all the best in his next chapter,” says Mindy Harter, Board Secretary at Clark County Food Bank. This dynamic approach has been instrumental in guiding the organization and addressing food insecurity with compassion and effectiveness.

“Alan has been an incredible leader for the food bank. His ability to guide the organization based on solid business principles has enabled its responsiveness to meet the unfortunate and ever-growing community’s food insecurity. All that he has accomplished could not have been achieved without the heartfelt dedication that Alan has clearly demonstrated every day over the years he has served as President, for which the Board is eternally grateful,” says Elson Strahan, Board Chair. During Alan’s tenure, the food bank has seen 128,617 volunteers, with more than 81 million pounds of food distributed!

From the Staff
“Alan is one of the most dynamic leaders in our community,” says Marlene Ashworth. “He leads with his heart, passion, and charisma–and inspires others to do the same. His insights have helped shaped the food banking community locally, regionally, and beyond.” Not only is he a strong leader, but he spends the time to get to know the community he’s part of and the team at the food bank. Rachel Casey notes, “he interacts with everyone on a personal level, walking through the office striking up conversations and asking how people are doing. I can hear him laughing and joking with people in the kitchen during lunch.” Alan’s legacy of impactful leadership and heartfelt dedication will undoubtedly continue to inspire and benefit our community for many years to come.
