SUPPORTING CULTURALLY RELEVANT FOODS
This summer, Clark County Food Bank has been working to improve the relevance of our food offerings. We are intentionally seeking funding to enhance our focus on culturally relevant foods to better meet the diverse needs of our community. Thanks to grants from WSDA We Feed WA, Oregon Food Bank, and Kaiser Permanente, we have been able to support the international district on the Fourth Plain Corridor by purchasing culturally relevant foods and building relationships with small, local international grocers.
“The vendors have been thrilled, and the partner agencies have been very excited to get the foods,” said Kieran Collins, Warehouse Manager at Clark County Food Bank. With a spike in food needs this year in Clark County, the culturally relevant food program has been a great way to both increase the amount of food that can be distributed throughout the community, and better serve the community’s diverse populations.
