DONOR SPOTLIGHT: MARSHA DEE

As we welcome the crisp autumn air and the season of gratitude, we want to take a moment to highlight one of our remarkable supporters, Marsha Dee. Her steadfast dedication to ensuring no child in our community goes hungry is truly inspirational.

Marsha’s journey began in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she and her five siblings struggled with food insecurity. Often, she would prioritize their needs over her own to make sure they had enough to eat. At the age of 19, Marsha moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she took an office job at a steel fabrication company and immersed herself in learning the industry.

Her years of hard work paid off in 2016 when she and her business partner acquired Fabrication Products, a company that has flourished under her leadership. Today, Fabrication Products supplies structural steel to businesses and dams nationwide, thanks to Marsha’s expertise and determination.

With her success, Marsha remains deeply committed to giving back to her community. “I made a promise to myself that if I ever reached a position where I could give back, I would focus on something as impactful as the food bank or any organization addressing food insecurity,” she shares. She is passionate about not only providing nutritious meals for children but also equipping them with the knowledge to make healthy choices that will contribute to their success in school and in life. “If we would have known how important it [nutrition] was growing up and how much better your brain works as a child and how much more energy you have, it would have helped me out tremendously.”

The support of donors like Marsha enables us to continue expanding vital programs, including our nutrition education program, farming and gleaning program, and school pantry initiative. These programs ensures children have access to nutritious food year-round, as well as the skills needed to make healthy choice, setting them up for bright futures.
