THE SEASON OF FOOD DRIVES

“Love travels on food.” These are words often expressed at Clark County Food Bank because we recognize the impact food has on each of our lives. Food is frequently the focal point of celebrations and gatherings, where meals are shared among family members and friends. Here at the Clark County Food Bank, we extend that love to our community by providing food assistance to our neighbors.

In November and December, another dimension of this love is on display through Food & Fund Drives. This fall, over 130 individuals and organizations demonstrated their love by hosting a Food (or Fund) Drive for Clark County Food Bank. Food Drives offer an easy way to serve with a lasting impact. From a backyard birthday party Food Drive in October (Happy Birthday, Chere!) to corporate challenges in November (way to go, Fisher Investments and Vancouver Clinic!) to school collections in December (thanks, Hockinson Middle School!), Food & Fund Drives poured out love through their donations – collecting anywhere from 30 to 3,000 pounds of food. Our neighbors appreciate the variety of food available to choose from when they visit any of the 40+ Partner Agencies that receive this food.

2. Receive a Food & Fund Drive toolkit
3. Begin collecting non-perishable food or funds within your company or community
4. Bring collected food to the CCFB warehouse to be sorted and boxed by volunteers, and then distributed throughout Clark County to those in need of food assistance.
